Early Years Literacy Program

Our school has an Early Years Literacy co-ordinator, Kellie Rutherfurd who has been trained in the Early Years Reading and Writing Program. The Prep-Year 4 classrooms follow a balanced and structured literacy program designed to cater for the individual needs of all students.

Key features include:

• A two hour daily literacy block
• Uninterrupted teaching and learning time
• Whole class and small group teaching
• Continuous assessment and monitoring
• Developmental stages in reading and writing
• Learning activities

Children who are experiencing language difficulties receive extra assistance such as Speech Therapy. You will be consulted if we feel that your child may benefit.
